I hope you guys aren't sick of all my Lush Cosmetics posts because here's another one! I wanted to write a post about my skin care ever since I completely switched over to an all-Lush-routine, and because I'm about to become a licensed esthetician, so skin is a pretty big deal to me.
First, I want to talk about my skin and what I want for it. I have combination-oily skin, as in I'm REALLY oily in my T-zone and I would say I'm pretty normal everywhere else, but I do get flakey spots around the time when I need to exfoliate. I am sensitive, so using all natural products has really improved the quality and health of my skin. All of those man-made chemicals just reacted badly to my skin. ALSO, I do have hormonal acne that needs to constantly be kept an eye on. Oh, how I have some easy skin. (-:
Keep reading to see what's in my routine and what I have been using to have healthy skin!
First, I want to talk about my absolute first step (if I'm wearing makeup). Ultrabland is a thick, cream cleanser that is very gentle, but also very powerful. It is so gentle that it can even take off my eye makeup in no time. No more hassling with the liquid makeup remover and cotton rounds! This cleanser is perfect for all skin types, and a little really does go a long way. With ingredients like almond oil, beeswax, and rose water, this nourishing cleanser gently cleanses my skin while also hydrating it.
Next step (or first step if I'm not wearing makeup) is the Angels On Bare Skin cleanser.
This interesting solid cleanser comes in the form of a roll that is then cut up to be placed in the famous black pots. What's cool about this product is that because it is solid, it is paraben-free. Now, since there are no preservatives and it is so fresh, it only lasts for about three months. This cleanser is amazing for all skin types, but especially combination skin that needs some balance in its life. All of the lavender oil and flowers in this will do wonders for balancing skin in brining oiliness and dryness to an equilibrium. There is also ground almonds in this that gently exfoliates your skin, leaving my skin super soft and smooth. Like, I wish you guys could touch my face right now.
Now, some of you are probably wondering how to use this.. All you need to do is take a pinch off, place it in the palm of your hand, and then mix it with water to form a paste! Then you can just wash your face like you normally would. Personally, I like to leave it on my face for about a minute as sort of a mini-mask.
Next up is the Breath Of Fresh Air toner water! I always use this after I cleanse my face and then put my moisturizer on right afterwards while my face is still wet from the toner. This toner is filled with nutrients from the carrageenan seaweed and sea water. There is also aloe vera, which calms down redness, rose absolute, patchouli oil, and rosemary oil. This automatically calms down any redness I may have, and I love how it smells like the beach.
Last step in my daily routine is the Enzymion facial moisturizer! This is Lush's least moisturizing one, which is perfect for my oily skin. Also, this moisturizer contains lemon, papaya, lime, and tangerine oils which contain enzymes to eat away at the oil and dead skin cells. There is also aloe vera to calm and cool, as well as avocado oil and cocoa butter to hydrate. I have noticed a significant difference in my oil production ever since I started using this.
The next two products are little add-ons to my routine which I only use a couple times a week.
First up is the Mask of Magnaminty face and body mask, the self-preserving formula.
This is an amazing minty mask to deeply cleanse my skin and combat acne. I don't only use it on my face, I also use it on my chest and back whenever needed! Now, since is the self-preserving formula (in comparison to the original), this product is preservative-free! And another difference from the original is that it is slightly calmer than the original due to there being more honey in it. In this lovely mask, there is honey, which softens and hydrates, while also being a great anti-bacterial (great for combating acne). There is also ground up aduki beans which gently exfoliate when you scrub the mask off. There is also heaps of peppermint oil and vanilla absolute, making it smell so lovely.
Last, but not least, is the Ocean Salt face and body scrub! I only have a sample pot of it right now to try it out, but I definitely plan on getting a huge pot of it soon.
This super lovely, margarita-scented sea salt scrub is such an amazing part of my routine. It polishes my skin so nicely while also getting rid of my excess oils. This amazing scrub has both coarse and fine sea salt to exfoliate all the dead skin off, while the lime-infused vodka cleanses the skin. There is also avocado butter to hydrate the skin to replace the oils that were stripped away. I feel so brightened and smooth after using this, I wish I could use it everyday, but alas, I am too sensitive for that.
And that brings us to the end everybody! What products do you use in your skin care routine? Have you tried any of these products?
Thank you, and I hope you have a lovely weekend!
cool. I want to try the ocean salt next time I am in. sounds wonderful. :)
