Mini Ulta Haul

Hi everyone! Today I decided to do a little makeup haul since I haven't done one in WHO KNOWS HOW LONG. I mostly needed to restock, but then I saw Ulta was having a Buy One, Get One 50% Off sale on all Nyx Cosmetics.

First, I got my Urban Decay All-Nighter setting spray because I have been suffering without it. This hot Texas weather does not like my makeup to look beat, so I need this to help keep my foundation from sliding right off.

I also got my L'oreal True Match foundation in Classic Ivory N2, Maybelline Fit Me concealer in Light, and Rimmel London Stay Matte pressed powder in Natural to restock. I have literally been scraping out anything I can from the bottles and I was just sick of it.

Now the fun part, I decided to pick up a few things from Nyx that I have never tried before, and also some new colors from things I have tried.

First, I chose two new colors of the Roll-On Shimmers, Nude and Mauve Pink. Nude is a beautiful champagne, golden nude that would look beautiful as a highlight in the inner corner of the eyes or all over the lid. Mauve Pink is definitely more of a softer pink, but does have that warmer undertone to it. I would love to use this in conjunction with the Urban Decay Naked 3 palette.

Next, I got two lipsticks, one matte lipstick and the other a soft matte lip cream. I chose Whipped Caviar, a mauve-y, pinky nude that is so creamy going on the lips. I think it's my favorite thing I've picked up today. The other is the soft matte lip cream in Cannes, a more deep, brownish-red color. I can't wait to try this on my lips next. I also got two lip liners, Natural and Nude Beige. Natural is a slightly more pink nude color and Nude Beige is definitely more of a brown nude. Nonetheless, they are both so beautiful underneath any type of nude lipstick.

Below,  I did some swatches of all the Nyx products I picked up today.

Whipped Caviar matte lipstick, Cannes soft matte lip cream, Natural lip liner, Nude Beige lip liner, Nude roll-on shimmer, and Mauve Pink roll-on shimmer.

I hope you are all having an amazing week, and let me know what your favorite products are!

LUSH // Life's A Beach review

I've come back with another exciting Lush Cosmetics review for you guys! Recently, Lush has started a campaign with 5 Gyres, a non-profit organization trying to outlaw plastic microbeads in products. In this partnership, Lush has created a body scrub called Life's A Beach! This scrub contains sea salt and sand to exfoliate your skin while having a Vanillary scent to it, making it smell so yummy. And also, 100% of the proceeds go towards helping get plastic out of our products, and therefore out of our oceans!

Now, at first I was a little scared about using this, as it's a dry scrub. I didn't want to waste any of the product by dropping most of it down the drain. So I actually didn't use it by itself, I decided to take a scoop of the scrub (I used the cap of a toner water) and then got some Yummy Mummy shower gel! The two mixed made an absolutely perfect combo as the scrub's Vanillary scent mixed with the shower gel's sweet strawberry smell! And none of it was wasted.

The scrubby feeling was absolutely fantastic, especially since I'm a serious scrubber, and it left a very sweet, but subtle, scent to my skin throughout the day. I felt oh, so soft and touchable afterwards. Since I was only able to get two tubs, I won't be using this very often, but it's a great addition to my little Lush hoard.

If you still have a chance in stores, please grab at least one! They're only $6.95 for a 3.3 oz tub and they're going fast! I have also seen them online still, so if you really want to try it, I would order it.

I will try to get back in the swing of writing more often, but if you have any suggestions or want to see anything, please let me know!

Lush haul #2

Hello! I decided to pick up a some things after work last night, so I had to get two of my staples and a few new things that I am really excited to try!

  • I Love Juicy shampoo: a great shampoo for people with oily hair (like myself). The mango, papaya, kiwi, and pineapple smell so good and the enzymes are what eats away all the oil! There’s also seaweed for nourishment and sea salt for volume. This was a repurchase for me.
  • Happy Hippy shower gel: this amazing triple grapefruit shower gel is my absolute favorite for washing myself with. It’s very uplifting and awakening, which is perfect for my morning showers. This was another repurchase.
  • D’Fluff shaving soap: this is a new product for me to try and the scent alone makes me excited. This shaving soap is full of strawberries, rosehip oil, and cocoa butter that makes your skin super soft. I can’t wait to use this the next time I shave my legs.
  • Vanishing Cream facial moisturizer: I took a sample of this light moisturizer home and I just fell in love with it, so I had to splurge a little to get this. This moisturizer has balancing lavender, cleansing witch hazel, and lots of oils and shea butter to hydrate. This is a perfect moisturizer for acne-prone, oily skin.
  • Full of Grace serum bar: this super hydrating solid serum is a product I’ve been looking forward to using as my nighttime moisturizer and for using underneath masks. This little bar is packed full of antioxidant portobello mushrooms and murumuru and cupuacu butters to soften and hydrate skin. I love how only a little bit is all you need and I can’t wait to use it tonight.
  • Pearl massage bar: this rose jam-scented solid lotion smells so sweet, I could eat it. The beautiful pink sago bubbles at the top were inspired by bubble tea, giving it a texture to massage achy muscles. The calming rose oil and antioxidant organ oil moisturize your skin beautifully.
  • Butterball bath bomb: lastly, I got this little moisturizing bath bomb to put in my little stash. The cocoa butter leaves you silky soft while the vanilla and ylang ylang oil calm the senses.

What are your must haves?

LUSH Review/Experiment: Reducing stretch marks with the Buffy Body Butter

Hello! After not posting a while, I have a pretty exciting one that I have been planning for the past few weeks~ Today I am doing a dual post on the Lush Cosmetics Buffy Body Butter, a solid scrubby lotion you use in the shower. I decided to do an experiment as I've heard many claims that this will reduce the appearance of stretch marks! Now, in the past year, I have gained a little bit of weight and I obtained some stretch marks on my belly. Since I got them so fast, they are red and raised. They are my least favorite attribute that I have at the moment and I wanted to get rid of them. I did some research, but each time there would be pros and cons to each item, or that they wouldn't even work for them. Now that I am working for Lush, I decided to go ahead and try out Buffy. Now it is a definite holy grail product in my collection!

My Skin Care Routine (all LUSH!)

I hope you guys aren't sick of all my Lush Cosmetics posts because here's another one! I wanted to write a post about my skin care ever since I completely switched over to an all-Lush-routine, and because I'm about to become a licensed esthetician, so skin is a pretty big deal to me.

First, I want to talk about my skin and what I want for it. I have combination-oily skin, as in I'm REALLY oily in my T-zone and I would say I'm pretty normal everywhere else, but I do get flakey spots around the time when I need to exfoliate. I am sensitive, so using all natural products has really improved the quality and health of my skin. All of those man-made chemicals just reacted badly to my skin. ALSO, I do have hormonal acne that needs to constantly be kept an eye on. Oh, how I have some easy skin. (-:

Keep reading to see what's in my routine and what I have been using to have healthy skin!

Review: LUSH Cosmetics Roots Hair Treatment

Today I am bringing you a review on one of LUSH Cosmetic's hair treatment products called Roots! This little hair mask is my absolute favorite now, especially for my fine, thin, and oily hair.

Now Roots is a hair mask that you put on your dry hair before you get in the shower and shampoo it out. I used a generous amount (which isn't a lot for my short hair) and massaged it into my hair roots, as well as a little bit throughout for some extra strength.

This product is packed full of mint infusion, peppermint oil, and spearmint oil, leaving my scalp feeling tingly and fresh.  Along with all the mint, there is also honey and extra virgin olive oil to soften and moisturize my hair, while citrusy oils wake my hair up.

This cream was very easy to put in my hair, and wasn't messy at all. It's thick enough that it doesn't run and actually dried slightly in my hair.  After about ten minutes, I hopped in the shower and shampooed it out.  Right away, my hair FELT thicker and stronger.  It was the most amazing thing feeling it almost grow.

I've used it for almost a month now and I will definitely say that using this, along with my new, all LUSH hair routine, has definitely changed my hair for the better. My hair seems thicker, stronger, and softer. Now that my hair is growing longer, I have had to use more heat on it, so this hair treatment has been doing wonders for repair. It is now one of my absolute FAVORITE products now, I don't think I'll be able to live without it now.

Thank you for reading my review. If you want to know about my hair or skin routine, please let me know through the comments or even on my Instagram.

Have you tried Roots before? What's your favorite LUSH product at the moment?

First Look: Morphe Brushes Jaclyn Hill Palette

I am so excited to show you a new edition to my collection: the Morphe Brushes Jaclyn Hill palette!  I went to an Esthetics Conference in Dallas, Texas and as I was looking at the booths, I saw a Morphe Brushes booth.  I was so excited to see them there and I didn't expect to see much, just some of their brushes and maybe a few palettes, but I knew what this palette was as soon as I saw it. I asked if they had any left and before I could even finish my question, the guy exclaimed yes! I have been wanting to get my hands on this palette since it came out in January, but never had the money to order it online, especially since it sold out so quickly. I feel so lucky to have gotten this beautiful palette.
