Due to a few requests, I am bringing you guys a review of the Naked 3 palette by Urban Decay. Again, I'm late hopping on the bandwagon, but I'm so happy that I own it now. I actually thought that I didn't really like the Naked 3 because I didn't think rose-toned shades would look good on me. Then, I randomly tried to do a red, cranberry look on myself and LOVED the way it looked with brown eyes, so now I'm absolutely hooked. For my birthday, my younger sister got it for me and I have been using it for my daily look ever since.
If you want to know my thoughts on this palette, then keep on reading.
This palette contains twelve very buttery and pigmented shades that pretty much all have a rosey hue to them. It is a great alternative to the normal neutral palettes out there as it is still very versatile and could be used for daytime and nighttime looks. Below are breakdowns of each shade.
The first five shades of the palette are the lighter and more pink of the rest.
Strange is a white highlight shade that I have been using for my brow bone highlight. It would also be a great base shadow for your other colors.
Dust is a dusty, glittery pink that can be a little difficult to apply, but you just need to pat it on. I love using it on top of Burnout to give my look a little glitter.
Burnout is a light, shimmery rose-toned champagne gold.
Limit is a matte, rose-toned taupe that is a perfect transition shade.
Buzz is a shimmery, rosey mauve.
The next five are the more bronzey and brown shades of the palettes. They are very versatile and can easily be switched with each other in being used in various looks.
Trick is a metallic, rose-toned bronzey-gold that is one of my favorites.
Nooner is a darker version of Limit, but a little more brown. I love using this to darken up my crease.
Liar is a beautiful shimmery bronze that is great in the outer half of my lids.
Factory is a very shimmery, red-toned dark brown.
Mugshot is a shimmery dark brown.
The last two shades are the darkest and are both really good in my outer "v" and on the lower lash line.
Darkside is a shimmery, taupey brown.
And Blackheart is a matte black with floating red/pink glitter, a perfect name for this shade.
Below are swatches of all the shades. The first picture shows the shades without any primer underneath. The second picture shows them with the Urban Decay Primer Potion underneath.
All of these shades are very pigmented and are very buttery and soft to the touch. Every time I've done my makeup, I've had no problem with blending or applying. I have also felt that I've been able to do an array of looks using this palette, whether it be a light day time look to a more smokey eye. I would highly request this palette to anyone looking for a neutral palette that is more unique than a lot of the others out now.
Thank you for reading and I hope I was able to help anyone who has been thinking about owning this palette or maybe having second thoughts. If you're willing to invest some money ($54) then I would definitely suggest this.
