First Impressions: Too Faced Chocolate Bar

Today, I have my first impressions of the Too Faced Chocolate Bar eyeshadow palette. This is a palette I've had on my wish list for a long time and I finally got my hands on it while out shopping today. I originally went to get some other products, but they didn't have anything I wanted, so I gave in and bought this sweet palette.

The Chocolate Bar palette is a very special eyeshadow palette compared to all the others in that it actually smells like chocolate! Every shade has 100% natural cocoa powder in them, giving this palette a very sweet and tasty smell. When I open it up, it makes me want to eat it! Below I have swatches and detailed descriptions of the palette itself.

The palette opens and closes with a magnet which is both handy and kinda aggravating. I love magnets in palettes as it helps when I do my makeup and I can just open it with one hand, but it is VERY easy to open. It makes me scared that it will open up at anytime if I take it with me traveling.

There are 16 eyeshadows ranging from warm browns to pinks to plum colors. Two of these shades are perfect highlighting shades, one being matte and the other being shimmery. And every single shade is buttery and soft.

The first shade is called Gilded Ganache and is a dark brown with a lot of gold glitter in it.
White Chocolate is a matte creamy, off-white color that would be a perfect base shadow or matte brow bone highlight.
Milk Chocolate sums up the color of this shade perfectly. It really is a milk chocolatey, warm matte brown.
Black Forest Truffle is a very pretty, shimmery, red-toned brown.
Triple Fudge is a very dark matte brown.
Salted Caramel is a matte light brown that has a slight peachy-tone underneath.
Marzipan is by far one of my favorites in the palette and is a very shimmery light golden champagne color. It really reminds me of the shade Unreal from the Lorac Unzipped palette (my favorite eyeshadow ever).
Semi-Sweet is a matte, red-toned medium brown.
Strawberry Bon Bon is a matte baby pink that is kinda sheer, but I think it could be a pretty highlight in the inner corner.
Candied Violet s a violet shade with light purple glitter.
Amaretto is another favorite of mine and is a metallic cranberry/rust shade.
Hazelnut is another metallic shade that is a bronzed-brown with gold shimmer.
Creme Brûlée is a very pretty metallic warm gold.
Haute Chocolate is a metallic, rose-toned brown and is very pretty next to the previous three metallic shades.
Cherry Cordial is a very interesting matte reddish-brown with a little bit of purple glitter floating in it.
And lastly, Champagne Truffle is a shimmery champagne white which would be a lovely inner corner highlight.

Below are swatches of each shade. Sadly, White Chocolate, Strawberry Bon Bon, and Champagne Truffle are the most difficult to see because they are so light.

Here are some swatches on my fingers of the three lightest shades: White Chocolate, Strawberry Bon Bon, and Champagne Truffle.

Overall, I am very happy with this purchase. Every shade feels very buttery and smooth, and only a few of the matte shades are kinda sheer, but doing a few coats should do the trick. Every name is perfect for their corresponding shade color and the smell is to die for. I cannot wait to start doing looks using this palette starting tomorrow. After a few days, I will do a full review on the palette after I (try) to use every shade. My only gripe so far is the magnet fastening to the palette is way too weak for my taste, I am scared of it opening too easily and some of the shadows getting dirty or ruined.

Thank you for reading and I hope you all had a great week! What kind of posts would you like to see? I'm thinking about possibly doing my February favorites and maybe some routines?
