What's In My Traveling Makeup Bag

I thought that this subject would be perfect for my second post as this weekend I am going to Austin, Texas!  Since I am going to be gone for just a few days, I only really need to bring my essentials with me. Also, I guess this post could also be a routine post because I will list the items in order in use~

First, I use Benefit's The Porefessional as my primer to minimize any pores, and to obviously prime my skin before my foundation.

Next, there's L'oreal True Match foundation in the shade nude beige W3.  I have been loving this foundation lately as it gives me great coverage.  My only complaint is that it's too warm when I needed a neutrally-toned foundation, but there weren't any left when I was at Ulta. Oh well, it works in the mean time!  I always blend out my foundation and concealer with a dampened Real Techniques sponge! If you can't afford a Beauty Blender, this sponge is a great alternative since it's only $6!

To cover my under eye circles and to highlight slightly, I use the NYX HD Concealer in Light. I love the formula of this highlighter and blends like a dream!  I will definitely have to purchase some more in the future.

If I'm having any bad acne spots that are too stubborn to be covered up, I will then just spot conceal using Benefit's Boi-ing concealer in 01.  This is rarely used, but it does such a good job at hiding any of my undesirable red acne demons.

For powder, I use Rimmel's Stay Matte powder in 011 Creamy Natural.  Ever since I first used their translucent powder, I have become a devoted fan of their powders.  It really does help control my oil and I only really have to blot my t-zone once during the day.

After all that (it seems so much!!), I use the Anastasia Beverly Hills Contour Kit.  I never really got into trying to perfect my contour until I got this baby.  I just use the top three powders Sand, Banana, and Vanilla for highlighting and the bottom middle shade, Fawn, as my contour.

Then, I prime my eyelids with the Smashbox 24 Hour Photo Finish Shadow Primer.  I love that a tiny bit of this goes a long way.  For a small sample size, it's lasted me about 4 months now with using it almost every day.

For eyeshadow, I always seem to pull out my Lorac Unzipped palette.  Obviously, I am in love with Unreal, the second shade on the bottom.  I am lost without my perfect shimmery, champagne color.  With this palette, I have an abundance of looks to choose from, which is perfect for a trip.

Next are eyebrows, which is the most important thing to me in my makeup routine.  I could leave without any makeup on, except for eyebrows.  And for this, I have my beloved Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Pomade in Chocolate.  I have been in love with this product as soon as I tried it.  Once it gets close to running out or drying out, I think I will purchase it in Dark Brown.  After I apply the pomade, I just carve out my brows with some concealer and a small brush.

For mascara, I am bringing Benefit's They're Real! mascara.  I am still trying to fall in love with this mascara, but maybe I will once it kinda dries up a bit.  I'm one of those weirdos that really loves mascara after it's aged a bit. Heh.

I forgot this during my face products, but my favorite blush lately has been Mellow Mauve by e.l.f.  And also, my favorite lipstick (not showed in the picture) is Kat Von D's Painted Love lipstick in Ritual. I usually carry my lipstick in my purse so I can reapply it throughout the day when needed.

After I'm completely done with my makeup, I will spritz some of Urban Decay's All Nighter setting spray to keep my makeup locked in place.

I hope you enjoyed reading and thank you! I am sorry for my photo quality, I think I will try to dig out my camera and use that instead of my phone.  I will post again next week!

    1. Do it! I love it. You can get it in different shades or translucent (best bet since they don't have much of a selection of darker colors over super white -.- lol).
